If you go to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point, don't be lured in by the temporary food carts that are set up in the gardens. I was. I was lured by the thought of fresh cut fries and corn dogs. (They were out of hamburgers.) And they reeled me in with their strong clear line that was invisible to me. Me and Brian were about to get the kids meals right along with our kids since they were only $4.50 and the adult meals were $7.50 but then we noticed that the kids meals only came with chips and we wanted the fries. So we forked over the $6.00 extra dollars between us, I got a corn dog and Brian got chicken tenders.
It turns out that the adult chicken tenders are actually shaped like dinosaurs. Hmmm. That sounds like kids chicken tenders to me. They probably warmed the chicken and the corn dogs up in the microwave. The fries ended up being greasy tasteless strings of potato. Don't get me wrong, I like greasy at times, but tasteless greasy?! I do not like. Darn! I hate spending money on crappy food! We should have just gotten a light snack there and gone to a real food place after instead. Like JCW's. It's right outside the gardens! Now those are good fries. I always judge a food establishment by their fries. Even the Thanksgiving Point restaurant has good fries. Why, oh why didn't we go there instead! I will answer my own question. It's because it was already 1:00 and we still weren't all the way throught the gardens. We were hungry. And fresh fair-type food sounded good.
Learn from me and just get a snack and move along to some real food. I was blinded by the shine and glare of the spinner. Don't ask me why I'm using all of these terms. I don't even fish.

Just a little vent
Not a day goes by that I'm not annoyed at the pick up/drop off loop at the school. 95% of the time it is for one reason: people stopping in the "keep moving" lane. The school sends home a note at the beginning of each year telling people to not stop in this lane. Kids could get hurt, it backs up the lines, and it's very annoying to others. It's just like butting in line. All the people who are in the correct stopping lane picking their kids up the right way will have to wait for the people who come after them and let their kids cross two lanes to get to their car and they will block everyone behind them in both lanes until they are done and then they will get to leave before everyone else. (They come at the last minute to pick up). ANNOYING!! I know I have used the word "annoying" three times in this post, now four. But that's exactly what it is.
I have never liked butters. As young as I can remember in school, I have realized that it's not fair. All through high school, I disliked anyone who butt in line. And now as an adult, I still don't like it. But I have never dared say anything, ever. Recently, with the school thing, I have become a honker. Good for me for being assertive, bad for me for being rude. Maybe it's cause I have my car to hide inside that I am braver. I am a little nervous that the person who I honk at will be someone I know, or that I will have to work with later on (helping in class, etc.) But maybe they deserve it. Don't stop in the "keep moving" lane. Thank you.

Pet peeves
* inside-out clothes from the dryer (sometimes the dryer turns them inside out but sometimes... it's how they're taken off)
* a large piece of garbage in a small garbage can (if it fills it up so you have to dump it anyway, just find a bigger garbage can to put the big thing in and leave room for little things in the little garbage)
*flipping through the channels and coming across a movie and you want to see what movie it is and you wait and wait and all it shows is darkness and darkness or a car driving across the whole state of California and it never shows who is in the movie so you can't see if you want to watch it or not and finally you have to just turn the channel again because you don't want to watch the birds flying in the sky for 10 more minutes. (I am the only person in the the USA without Tivo/a DVR)
