Hallowe'en '09

A few days before Halloween we had soup bowls for dinner. Here we are digging out pumpkin bread bowls

Here is a young boy, mad about what's for dinner (potato broccoli cheese soup) - a look I'm very familiar with.

Posing - but still whining about having to eat the soup.

I thought it was delicious.

Trunk or treat

Wondering if she should dress as Alice in Wonderland on the real Halloween

Cute little bee nephew, Lincoln, at my mom's house the day before Halloween.

Nephews Elliott and Ollie, and Elli

Baby Lincoln -or- Blincoln as Addie calls him.

Sunset

On Halloween night - Addie practicing at her own house.

Off for the real deal trick or treating.

Addie had to tell a whole paragraph at each house we went to: Trick-a-treat! Asbsbjba bucket! Jibberjabber candy! My wings! Thanks! You welcome! See you later!

Ben had to say several times: Elli's in my way! She keeps stopping right in front of me! I can't even walk! My hands are cold! (even though I told him to wear gloves)

Elli: I can't go up to the door! There's too many people! I can't move! My hands are cold! (oops, I did NOT tell her to wear gloves)

Elli eating a yummy scone, Addie eating the first of 3 suckers for the night.

And finally home!

Happy Halloween!

My original idea - and the idea that hundreds of other people have too

This was a fun photo shoot with Elli. Except not so fun waiting for the "I". Seriously, who HAS to lean against the "I" for 20 minutes? What are they waiting for? People? Maybe. And maybe I didn't realize until later that there were 2 "I"s and I could have taken two different poses at one "I".

Can someone please find me a pair of pants shaped like this?

Apparently this is the only kind of pants that will not give me muffin top.

I may need some suspenders though.

And maybe a little hat with a twirly helicopter thingy on top.

This little piggy turned 2

Guess who had a birthday?
Nope.
No.
Uh-uh.
Okay stop guessing, I'll just tell you:

It was Addie!

Trying very carefully to get messy.

Addie's favorite phrases lately:

Oh me gosh! (I know, I already said that one.)
MINE!
Addie's turn.
Guess what?
Look a me! (look at me)
I have a snack?
I watch a show. (favorite shows being: Yo Gabba Gabba, Blues Clues and Kipper the Dog)
Be ca-ful! (when SHE's doing something dangerous)
I want Sini.
I luff you.
I did it!
Thank you mama, you welcome. (says all 5 words)

Most of these sayings are yelled. It's her favorite way to talk. (I HAVE A SNACK?)

Darn, I wanted to show a video of her but it's not uploading. I've been trying for 2 days.

Funny things I have heard lately

Addie says: Oh me gosh! Oh me gosh! - Maybe it's just funny to me. But you have to hear it in her tiny two year old voice.

While waiting for the train at Disneyland, Ben was looking at the R.R. on the train and he said proudly: And I know what R.R. stands for! Red Robins!

I was at the chiropractor and my mom came in. (Yes, we go to the same chiropractor. Why? Because he's my brother.) I had recently gotten my hair done which means it is blonder than before I got it done. She didn't say hi to me at first and then when she finally looked at me she said: Oh, it's you! I didn't recognize you with your white hair.
(This made me laugh in a high-pitched, sad sort of way.)

From Youngling to Padowan

It took 2 failed attempts this past week but FINALLY on the 3rd try - Ben was picked for Jedi training in Disneyland. It only took arriving 40 minutes early and the help of a little sign written with crayon for him to be picked. And then his little dream came true.
